My personal mandala shows four equal sections, but in the middle shows the most important thing I love which is basketball. The first section shows my nationality which is American. I respect my country and will try to make it a better a place. The second section is a dollar sign. The reason I put a dollar sign is because I like to make money and I like to spend it. The third section shows a cross, because I go to church when I can and I respect everything about my religion. The fourth section is a flat screen TV. The TV represents that when I have spare time all I do is just relax and watch TV.

My thoughts on the vignette "No Speak English" were that Cisnero's must have been home sick before when she was younger, or she moved to America from Mexico because her parents probably found a new and better in America. Cisnero's culture is Mexican-American. Her use of figurative language adds a bit of humor and relaxation while reading, which is something I like to see in different texts. But the use of figurative language also shows how creative the author really is.
